Based on the oral history collected, this property was once owned by Kent Kennan, an American Composer and University of Texas at Austin music professor and writer of two noteworthy textbooks: Counterpoint and The Technique of Orchestration, both of which have been widely used for over 50 years in collegiate settings. Mr Kennan’s brother, the esteemed George F Kennan, still considered today one of the greatest foreign policy advisors of all time, visited at times as well. It has been said that the cross street, Kennan Road, is named after Kent Kennan himself.
